Move over white fungus and black fungus. Here comes the yello fungus, which is deadlier and more dangerous. The doctors said that the symptoms of yellow fungus ould include low appetite, loss of weight and lethargy. It could also lead to the leakage of pus. In the long range, it could cause sunken eyes and organ failure. In rare cases, it could also lead to necrosis.
Sources said that one person has so far been identified with yellow fungus infection. He is being treated at the Brij Pal Tyagi’s hospital in Ghaziabad. Doctors said that the yellow fungus is a fatal disease and needs immediate medical treatment. The yellow fungus is treated by giving amphotericin B injection, an anti-fungal drug. Doctors said that poor hygiene, high humidity levels and other such conditions cause fungal growth. Most vulnerable section of people who might contract the yellow fungus are those with weak immune system, diabetes, cancer and other co-morbidities.
Meanwhile, the Central government has said that so far, 5,424 cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported from 18 states and the union territories. Those prone to infections have been advised to remain alert and consult a doctor if needed
