The objectionable video controversy at Chandigarh University needs no introduction. For the last couple of days, the controversy has been going on. The concerned cops are probing the matter and unearthing new details in the case. Three people were arrested in connection with the case already.
The Punjab police are not leaving the case and probing the matter. Now the latest news is that a three-member Special Investigation Team(SIT) has been set up to look into the matter. The team is led by senior Indian Police Service officer Gurpreet Kaur Deo.
As the controversy is related to girl students, the SIT is headed by a lady IG so that no unwanted scene takes place. Kaur has a good record as an IG and she is expected to complete the case at the earliest.
As a lot of rumours are doing rounds related to the case, the cops swung into action and formed an SIT. The members of the SIT will go through the evidence gathered as of now and collect other evidence required to finish the case.
The controversy gave birth to many tense situations and the university administration announced that the classes are suspended till next week as a safety measure. There is a reason behind this, for the past few days the girl students are protesting on the campus premises.
Given the sensitive matter, a SIT was formed. As of now, three people were arrested. One girl student and two people were arrested. They were submitted before the court and they were sent to custody.
