Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao aka Sr NTR is a big name that is associated with the Telugu film industry. He took the industry to greater heights during his stint as an actor. He was the first Telugu hero to start the trend of commercial films. Adavi Ramudu is a classic example of this.
After a highly successful career in cinema, Sr NTR, popularly known as Anna Garu ventured into politics and left his mark in the political spectrum as well. Within nine months of floating his party, Anna Garu went on to become the Chief Minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh in 1983.
It’s been 26 years since the legendary person and leader left us. On the occasion of his death anniversary, his son Nandamuri Balakrishna reached NTR Ghat and paid tributes to his father. Later, Balakrishna addressed the media. He spoke highly about Anna Garu.
‘NTR’s life is inspirational to one and all. It’s our fortune that a person like NTR was born in the Telugu clan. NTR has a history of shaking the roots of the Congress party. He brought the Government Order to grant the jobs for the locals during his days as the Chief Minister,’ Nandamuri Balakrishna said.
Born on May 28, 1923, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao breathed his last on the 18th of January 1996. He passed away due to cardiac arrest at his house. NTR’s last films served as the launching vehicles of his political entry.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao made his acting debut with the social drama Mana Desam in 1949. His passion for cinema made him leave his gazetted officer post to foray into the film world. His acting prowess was liked by one and all that made him connect with the masses and family audiences too.
His fans and film critics refer to him as Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarwa Bhouma. Patala Bhairavi gave him the required recognition and there is no stopping for the actor. He went to appear in several cult classics and memorable films in his acting career. Adding one more feather to his illustrious cap, NTR became the Chief Minister by fighting against the grand old Congress.
