The trailer of Palasa 1978 that was unveiled recently gave clear indications that the film deals with caste discrimination in the village of Palasa. Set in rural milieu in 70’s to 80’s era, the film revolves around a brutal murder that took place on Feb 4, 1989 in Palasa market yard. Rakshith plays the protagonist in this rustic, rural drama.
It is learnt that the film has some striking resemblances to Dhanush-starrer Asuran which is now being remade into Telugu as Narappa with Venkatesh as the lead. This is triggering a lot of curiosity on Palasa.
Also, it is buzzed that the Censor Board had suggested some cuts for the film. However, the makers didn’t budge and went for Review Committee and got the content retained without any cuts. As the film is all set for release this week i.e March 6th, one has to wait and watch what is in store for the film. The film has been screened to some industry personalities who said to have expressed good words about the film.
