Anyone aware of the Paritala family’s history in the Telugu states or the ones who got to know through the movie Raktha Charithra will understand how Paritala Ravindra and Sinthamma’s son, Partitala Sriram had to grow up away from the public gaze. For several year until Sriram completed his education, there was no news of his whereabouts. And, that’s the way the Paritala family kept things as Sunithamma dabbled politics after Ravi’s death.
Recently, Paritala Sunithamma had requested the Telugu Desam Party Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu to give her MLA ticket to her son, Paritala Sriram from Raptadu. Acknowledging her request and the loyalty of Paritala family towards the TDP, Chandrababu agreed to Sriram’s candidature. The 2019 assembly elections will see Sriram contesting from Raptadu in Anantapur district which has had a history of factionism and group violence.
Sriram, who kickstarted his campaign soon after the announcement by TDP leadership, was surprised to see the love and appreciation from people towards his family. While his mother Sunithamma, his brother Siddharth and his sister Snehalatha also participated in the campaign, people showered flower petals on Sriram in every village he visited. This has come as a pleasant surprise even to Paritala family members, said TDP sources.
During their campaign, Sriram and his family members personally went to people’s houses and sought their vote for his candidature and Telugu Desam Party. According to TDP sources, many leaders within the party have been quite surprised to see the amount of respect people still have for the Paritala family. Well, looks like Sriram is definitely going to make a mark as a young gun in the TDP.
