Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan has become a significant film in his career, marking his return to the screen after a break and establishing him in the YRF Spy Universe. Now, fans can look forward to Pathaan 2, as confirmed by the film’s writer, Abbas Tyrewala. He recently shared on the podcast Cyrus Says that the script for the sequel is almost ready for dialogue. Tyrewala expressed hope that he would be given the opportunity to work on it.
The excitement for Pathaan 2 has been building since the success of the first film. According to reports, both Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra have decided to turn Pathaan into a standalone franchise within the YRF Spy Universe. This decision comes in response to the strong audience demand for more of Khan’s spy character.
A source involved in the project noted that Khan’s portrayal of Pathaan has resonated with viewers, leading to expectations for more adventures in this action-packed narrative. The sequel aims to set the stage for larger conflicts in the broader timeline of the spy universe.
httpIn addition to Pathaan 2, Tyrewala has also completed the first draft of dialogue for another upcoming project titled King. This film will mark Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with his daughter, Suhana Khan. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, King is being co-produced by Gauri Khan and Siddharth Anand. The production is scheduled to begin in Mumbai in January 2025, with plans for filming in Europe as well. The filmmakers are targeting an Eid 2026 release for the film.
