King Khan Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller ‘Pathaan’ is raking up huge numbers at the box office. It took the Bollywood Baadshah himself to make a comeback into films after four years to bring back Hindi cinema its glory back. The movie registered huge opening day collections and trade experts claim that it cross the first day records set by ‘KGF – 2’.
The Hindi version of ‘KGF – 2’ minted 54+ crores on its first day and ‘Pathaan’ crossed it by getting 55+ crores which makes it the highest collecting Bollywood film on the first day. The movie had a non-holiday release but SRK’s craze and stardom was at full display as the movie created records despite everything. The second day is Republic day and we need to see how much ‘Pathaan’ gets now.
People usually praise South Indian films for mass scenes, hero elevations and goosebumps moments. The North audience show interest heavily in these movies which became a huge problem for Bollywood. In order to cater to their audience, the Hindi filmmakers changed their style and ‘Pathaan’ is a huge example of it. The movie has a lot of hero elevation scenes and high-octane action episodes which made the masses go crazy.
Director Siddharth Anand presented SRK in the way his fans wanted to see and there are plenty of scenes where the influence of South Indian cinema can clearly be seen. The special cameo of Salman and both the superstars pulling out some cool action moves and their conversations made the audience go crazy in theatres. Let us wait and see how big ‘Pathaan’ becomes.
