For the first time, power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan had a word of praise for YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for taking a bold decision.
In a statement on Wednesday, Pawan said the decision taken by the Jagan government to hand over the rape-and-murder case of a girl student of CRR High School in Kurnool in 2017 to Central Bureau of Investigation.
“It will be a great relief for the family of the girl which had been fighting for justice. The investigation has already been delayed. It is better the case is handed over to the CBI at the earliest and justice is done to her family,” Pawan said.
The Jana Sena chief held a massive rally in Kurnool town on February 12, wherein he made an emotional speech demanding that those who had allegedly raped and killed the girl student be brought to book.
He made a lot of allegations against the YSRC leaders for taking it easy with the case and said they were shielding the real culprits. He demanded that the government hand over the case to the CBI.
On Tuesday, when Jagan visited Kurnool to launch the third phase of Kanti Velugu programme, the family members of the girl approached him and requested him to do justice. Jagan announced that the case would be handed over to the CBI and justice would be done to the family in all aspects.
He directed that the officials bring the girl’s mother and others to him again so that he would have a detailed discussion with them to know the factual position.
In a way, Pawan can claim that it is a victory for his fight. Well, it is better the Jana Sena chief takes up such social issues regularly and see that justice is done to the victims. It would definitely fetch him some mileage in the long-run.
