It is a known fact that Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu always tried to have best of both in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Before the bifurcation of the combined state, Naidu used to say that both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were like two eyes for him.
But after the bifurcation, he restricted himself to Andhra Pradesh and completely ignored Telangana resulting in the collapse of the party in the new state.
Out of 15 MLAs his party had between 2014 and 2019 in Telangana, 12 MLAs defected to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and another MLA Revanth Reddy joined the Congress.
Even in 2018 assembly elections, the TDP had won two seats, one of whom defected to the TRS again.
Yet, Naidu still claims that he is deeply attached to Telangana, as he developed Hyderabad as a world class city. But he does not show his attachment when it is actually needed.
When every politician was donating funds to the CM Relief Fund to fight against the Coronavirus in the last few days, Naidu completely ignored Telangana.
He donated Rs 10 lakh to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for efforts against the coronavirus outbreak.
His family concern Heritage Foods headed by Naidu’s daughter-in-law also donated Rs 1 crore to the CM Relief fund for anti-Coronavirus operations.
All TDP MLAs and MLCs will also be donating one-month’s salary to the CM Relief Fund.
TDP MP K Rammohan Naidu has also announced to contribute one-month’s salary for novel coronavirus patients in Srikakulam, besides Rs 70 lakh from the MPLADS funds to be used to fight the coronavirus outbreak.
Another MP of the party, Kesineni Nani, has contributed Rs 5 crores from his MPLAD fund to the Krishna district administration where one positive Covid-19 case was found.
TDP Rajya Sabha member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar decided to spend Rs one crore from his MPLADS on Covid-19 relief measures in Krishna district.
But none of these TDP leaders, including Naidu, had donated any money to Telangana, though all of them have their own properties in Hyderabad.
That way, power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan is much better than Naidu and the TDP leaders. He announced a donation of Rs one crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Covid-19 relief measures.
And Pawan also announced another Rs 50 lakh each to the CM Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He did not show any discrimination!
