Pawan: YSRCP government is not using its full potential

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan ventured into politics a few years ago, by establishing his own party Jana Sena. Ever since then, he has tried to do the best he can, for the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Pawan never feared anyone, and always spoke his mind, supporting only the people of the state and no one else. Now, Pawan has opened up about his opinions on the ongoing situations in the Andhra Pradesh.

What’s your opinion on the way YSRCP has worked in the last one year?

The government has a huge majority, and can do a lot of good to the people. However, it is sad that the government is more focused on working towards creating a vote bank for themselves, instead of focusing on the good of the state. With such a huge majority, the government has a great potential to do so much good for the people, but is failing to put its efforts in the right direction.

The state of Andhra Pradesh is currently facing a lot of debts. What’s your opinion on this?

The previous government took a lot of loans, increasing the debt amount for the state. The current government should focus on increasing the economy of the state, and come up with a way to get rid of all the debts the state has.

Pawan: Dalits are being attacked under Jagan’s government

However, the YSRCP government is taking more and more loans, making the situation even worse for the state. It is high time that the YSRCP government realises the mistakes it’s doing and makes sure that there is proper development in the state, so that these debts are paid off very soon.

For nearly 62 cases, the judgement given by The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has been against the government’s wishes. Why do you think that is?

What needs to be understood is that the government is being very reckless and inconsiderate of the people. The High Court is at least working towards the betterment of the people. By the way the High Court has gone against the government so many times, we can understand how the government is failing. The people are getting justice through the High Court, because it’s an individual body that cannot be governed by the government, and for that, I am thankful.

As a result of Coronavirus, schools and colleges are now conducting classes online. What’s your opinion on that?

Private schools and colleges have the facilities to conduct online classes, and hence it is doing so. However, the same is not the case with government schools and colleges. Those students studying in government institutions are the worst hit right now, and the government should come up with a plan that would benefit them during these testing times. The governments of AP and Telangana should also discuss with private educational institutions about the fee that is to be paid, because there’s no cost right now, because of online classes, and it is not practical to pay the entire fee.

Political leaders are themselves going to private hospitals in case they test positive for Coronavirus, and are not preferring to go to government hospitals. Why do you think that is?

The way that hospitals and health care have been treated in India so far is not the way they are supposed to be treated. The government medical system should be turned into a very powerful and independent one, that can function without any support. The governments of AP and Telangana should also seize this opportunity and make the most use of it, by developing medical infrastructure and the way the medical system works in these two states.

Who is more responsible in making sure that Coronavirus doesn’t spread – the public, or the government?

The government should have been more serious in explaining to the public the severity of the virus.. When the government itself dismissed the virus as a normal flu, it is hard for the public to take it lightly. However, the public should now be very careful and should follow all precautions, irrespective of what the government is doing or not doing.
