Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), a flagship scheme for engaged and sustainable advancement of fisheries and animal husbandry sector in the country today.
PM Modi additionally introduced the e-Gopala App, an exhaustive breed improvement commercial center, which is like an information portal for struggling farmers and ranchers.
Modi stated, “Individuals occupied with pisciculture will profit to a great extent from this plan. It is our point that in the following 3-4 years we grow our production in manifolds that would eventually boost the fisheries division.”
PMMSY will lay a new path to a renewed White revolution (dairy sector) and Sweet revolution (apiculture sector),” the PM said. He added that 21 states in India will commence the scheme and amp up the developments needed for numerous milkmen and apiculturists.
The estimated investment of PMMSY plan is of whopping Rs 20,050 crore from 2020-21 to 2024-25 as part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) package, which is the highest ever fund put in fisheries sector.
Apart from that, he also announced series of development projects for Bihar. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that these schemes in pisciculture and animal husbandry would be a frontier in the sector.
