Days after visiting three vaccine facilities in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference with three teams involved in Covid-19 vaccine development on Monday.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that Narendra Modi interacted with the teams of Pune-based Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, Biological E Ltd, and Dr. Reddys Laboratories Ltd. The other two Pharma companies are based out of Hyderabad.
It is believed that Narendra Modi called for a virtual meeting to review the vaccine development. The Prime Minister has also lauded the efforts of the vaccine developers.
After getting informed about the vaccine development, Narendra Modi has sought inputs from the scientists in regard to the regulatory process and vaccine distribution and logistics.
With the Pharma giants in the country intensifying the clinical trials to manufacture a potential vaccine to cure the pandemic, the Union government has also upped the game in making the required arrangements to distribute the vaccines.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chaired a virtual meeting with the Chief Ministers of eight worst-affected states in the Country and directed the CMs to focus on arranging cold storage facilities to store the vaccines.
On Saturday, Prime Minister visited three vaccine facilities in Gujarat’s Zydus Cadila, Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII), and Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech.
