Popular Battery Manufacturing Company Moved To Telangana From AP?

Whatever might be the reason, the companies in Andhra Pradesh are moving out of the state. Recently we have seen how leading garment company Page Industries famous for innerwear Jockey moved to Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. Now another company is said to be going out of the state.

The latest information is that TDP MP Galla Jayadev-owned Amara Raja Batteries is reportedly moving to Telangana. The MP will meet the IT Minister of Telangana KTR in this regard and will sign a memorandum of understanding.

Earlier Amara Raja Batteries was targeted by the Andhra Pradesh government. The pollution control board filed a few cases and the issue reached a point where the Chittoor unit of the company was closed. The TDP sympathisers alleged that the YSRCP targeted the company as it is related to the TDP MP Galla Jayadev.

Citing a few violations and alleging that the company is causing harm to the environment, the pollution control board served a notice to the company and the issue even reached the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

Seeing the situations, the Amara Raja Batteries set up the unit in Tamil Nadu it wanted to set up in Andhra Pradesh. An MP deciding to move the company out of his home state became a big topic of discussion.

Amara Raja Company is one of the biggest battery manufacturing companies not only in the state but in the country. The company might make a few hundred crores of investments in Telangana initially. But the size of investments might grow further as the business grows.

It is known that the Indian government is giving a big push to electric vehicles to have an alternative to fuel consumption. Electric vehicle usage is going on at a good pace in many cities. The state governments are also giving incentives to boost electric vehicle consumption.

The battery manufacturing company is also shifting its focus to the electric side and also has plans to develop electric vehicle (EV) chargers and energy storage systems in the future. If this happens the Amara Raja Company will increase its investments and the size of the employment will also increase.
