The highly anticipated sci-fi extravaganza “Kalki,” starring Prabhas, is set to hit theaters worldwide on June 27th, 2024. As promotional activities commence, both the film’s leading actor and director have addressed concerns regarding the movie’s substantial budget.
In a recent interview, Prabhas emphasized the film’s international aspirations. “Kalki” is envisioned as a global spectacle, designed to captivate audiences far beyond India’s borders. He acknowledges, “This ambitious vision necessitates a high budget. We’ve assembled an incredible cast of Indian actors, and while the ‘Pan-India Star’ label doesn’t define me, it certainly pleases the fans.”
Director Nag Ashwin echoes Prabhas’ sentiment, aiming to deliver an immersive cinematic experience. He compares “Kalki’s” goal to that of “Avatar,” a film that redefined visual landscapes. Ashwin explains, “The film’s international appeal extends to its character names, which cater to a global audience.” The makers have confirmed a wide release strategy, encompassing Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and several foreign languages, including English.
The promotional campaign for “Kalki” is in full swing. A custom vehicle showcasing the film’s visuals is currently traversing various cities, further generating buzz. This excitement is set to be amplified with the premiere of a special video featuring “Bujji” (a key vehicle from the film) on Amazon Prime Video on May 31st.
Deepika Padukone takes on the leading lady role opposite Prabhas. The star-studded cast also boasts legendary actors like Kamal Haasan (playing the villain), Amitabh Bachchan, Pashupati, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. With its grand vision, A-list cast, and global aspirations, “Kalki” promises to be a cinematic marvel not to be missed.
