Prashant Kishor To Join Congress Soon After Parliament’s Session?

It is now becoming increasingly clear that poll strategist Prashant Kishor is set to join the Congress Party. With his resignation from the post of the political advisor to Punjab CM Amarinder Singh on Thursday, the decks have been cleared for his joining of the Congress. If sources are to be believed, he would be made the general secretary of the party, a post previously held by the likes of Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Congress sources are saying that he would join the party soon after the monsoon session of Parliament. Prashant Kishor met both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi several times in the recent past and has discussed the modalities of his entry into the party. He has already met the leaders of key anti-BJP, non-Congress parties such as NCP and TMC.

However, the path may not be all that rosy for Prashant kIshor. Party seniors might object to his structural changes. He is likely to suggest drastic changes in the party’s set-up and working style. He has suggested several such suggestions to both the YSRCP and the TMC. Both the parties have implemented those changes and were handsomely benefited. Will the same thing happen in case of the Congress Party? Will the party seniors accept these changes? Let’s wait and see.
