Matru Devo Bhava remains one of the best remake films in Tollywood. The drama film that stars Madhavi in the lead role made everyone who watched the film cry. The theatre owners even provided handkerchiefs to the audience to wipe their eyes.Matrudevobhava which was released in 1991 had completed three decades of its release. Now ace producer KS Rama Rao, who bankrolled the film expressed his desire to remake the film again.
The producer and director have appeared in a talk show recently. In the interview, KS Rama Rao said that he wants to remake the film with Ajay Kumar, who had helmed the original version.However, the ace producer said, he wants Lady Superstar Nayanthara to reprise Madhavi’s character in the remake. The owner of the Creative Commercials banner said he thinks Bahubali star Anushka Shetty and Mahanati fame Keerthy Suresh can reprise Madhavi’s role.
Adding further, KS Rama Rao said, the three beauties might charge a bomb for the film given the stardom they have. He said he wants to make the remake on a low budget.Giving his reason for wanting to remake the film, KS Rama Rao said, Matrudevobhava is a film that has to be watched in theatres and not on the Television. This is the reason why I wish to remake the film, he said.
