Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has demanded the purchase of 8,000 automatic trucks at the rate of two per ward for garbage collection in cities and towns as part of keeping the state clean.
The trucks will be launched on July 8. He said the focus should be on sanitation across the state and steps should be taken for garbage collection from time to time.
Jagan said that GPS and cameras should be set up for every garbage collection truck. It was suggested that a dust bin be set up at the end of each street.
He directed the officials to make arrangements for processing the collected wet and dry waste and to set up treatment plants for the treatment of wet waste. He suggested the officials focus on sanitation and hygiene even in rural areas.
