PV Sindhu Beats China’s World No 3, Enters Finals

India’s Badminton Champion and Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu has created history. By beating the World No. 3 Chen Yufei of China on Saturday, PV Sindhu has entered into the finals of World Championships. Sindhu is entering into the third straight World Championships Finals and this is a special moment in India’s Badminton history. With this, Sindhu has kept the hopes of crores of Indians alive on the Gold Medal at the World Championships. Not just that. A Gold or Sliver medal is confirm for Sindhu as she entered the finals and which one she would bag will be decided at the finals.

PV Sindhu was in full form on Saturday in the semi-final against Chen Yufei. Right from the start, Sindhu has shown her clear dominance over Chen Yufei. While Sindhu was very sharp, Chen lacked the pace and paid the price. In just 40 minutes, Sindhu demolished her rival Chen Yu Fei of China with 21-7, 21-14.

Earlier on Friday, Sindhu had stunned World No. 2 and familiar foe Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in the quarter-final match and thus entered into semi-final. Sindhu continued to prove her dominance over Chinese shuttlers at the World Championships – 6 wins in as many meetings with shuttlers from the powerhouses of world badminton.

Sindhu has already the joint-most successful women’s singles shuttler in World Championships. This World Championships is going to give the fifth World Championships medal to Sindhu. Now, all eyes are on the Finals of World Championships. Will she or won’t she? That’s the question on lips of every badminton fan.
