Just a few days post the release of long-awaited AL Vijay and Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi teaser, here comes the new teaser of Queen, an upcoming biopic on late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, starring the legend Ramya Krishnan. The series is being helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Yesterday, the teaser was first shared by MX Player on their official social media page. MX Player is a streaming domain where Queen series will premier. The teaser did not reveal any actor’s face which kept the suspense intact. Right from Jayalalithaa’s school-age to her politics era, the teaser in a very short time, montaged beautifully.
The leadership qualities of her as a schoolgirl and the big round of applause she receives as she stands in front of a mic on the dais is bringing in the hope that the series will teach a lot about Jayalalithaa’s life insight. One scene also shows “State topper in school” moments.
Later, Jayalalitha’ younger version is also seen dancing along with the words, “Superstar heroine at 18”. Then comes Ramya Krishnan, without showing her face, in a white saree, with the ADMK tricolour border, making public speeches. Co-directed by Prasath Murugesan, the detailed trailer will be released on December 5.
The teaser has brought in a positive talk and spiked the expectations for the cast and crew chosen. However, the series is not completely based on true events as it will have a touch of fictional take. The directors Prasath Murugesan took the reponibility of directing Jayalalithaa’s childhood, while Gautham has directed her adult life.
The web series has been written by Reshma Ghatala and Queen web series first season will have 11 episodes is set to premiere on MX Player.
