Raghavendra Rao expresses dilemma about his future!

Veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao seems to have lost faith in his ability to churn out box office mega hits like he did once. Many of his fans and well-wishers have been requesting the director to come up with a commercial film again, but the director expressed his doubt if people will watch his old school formulaic films now. He many times quipped even in many interviews of his that the times have changed and with changing times fresh water will take over the stagnant water and this is the nature’s rule.

He also opined that no one can keep making movies forever and one needs to understand when it is time to take a step backwards. Over the years, he developed a reputation for making devotional films with senior actor, especially Nagarjuna Akkineni. After Allari Bullodu with Nithiin and Jummandi Nadam with Tapsee, Manchu Manoj and Logan Babu, the ace director resorted to making devotionals like Pandurangadu with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shridi Sai and recently, Om Namo Venkatesaya with Nag.

Om Namo Venkatesaya, registered a flop at the box office even though it received critics appraisal. The director seems to taken it as a sign for him to stop and at a recent event when he was questioned about his long time associate, music director MM Keeravani’s wish to see him direct a commercial film, the director laughed and questioned, “Who will watch my movie if I make a commercial film?” He further kept laughing avoiding the answer when he was still probed about the same.
