Several projects are going to be scrapped after the lockdown comes to an end. With the economic recession is in force, producers are reviewing the various projects they had earlier announced.
Murmurs in the industry are that a Telugu remake of Bollywood blockbuster would be the first casualty.
Rana Daggubati bought the remake rights of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer “Dream Girl”. The film was announced with Raj Tarun reprising Ayushmann Khurrana’s role in Telugu.
However, this may not happen now. Producer Suresh Babu reportedly asked his team to put a stop sign on all the projects under the pipeline.
They will review the box-office prospects of small and medium films when they hit the screens in the coming months. If they feel small-concept based movies won’t work in the theaters, they will be turned into OTT movies.
The pre-production of “Dream Girl” is said to have already been stopped. A final call will be taken later this year.
