Rajamouli steps out for Bellamkonda Srinivas

Prior to the epic Baahubali duology, Rajamouli and Prabhas collaborated for Chatrapathi which released back in 2006. The mass masala action entertainer was one of the biggest box office blockbusters of the year as it minted big bucks at the ticket counters. It is still regarded as one of the best commercial potboilers in Telugu cinema. Now, Chatrapathi is set to be remade in Bollywood and the remake version will see Bellamkonda Srinivas reprising Prabhas’s role. The project was officially announced a long while back and earlier today, the makers organised a formal Pooja ceremony to mark its launch.

The launch ceremony was graced by ace filmmaker Rajamouli and his better half, Rama Rajamouli. The star director stepped out for Bellamkonda Srinivas and switched on the camera at the launch event. It is heard that Rajamouli was also approached by the makers of Chatrapathi remake for creative inputs. He will be providing assistance to the writing team. VV Vinayak will be helming Chatrapathi remake. Pen Studios who are bankrolling the project have allotted a massive budget for the same. The film will feature some of the top actors in the country and it will be mounted on a lavish scale. More details about the cast and crew will be out once the project hits the floors.

Vijayendra Prasad who penned the script for the original, Chatrapathi is back in action for the remake as well. He is providing the story and screenplay for the remake. Vinayak is monitoring the script development and the same will be locked and loaded very soon. Meanwhile, Bellamkonda Srinivas is undergoing rigorous physical training for his role in the remake. It was initially rumoured that Bollywood actress Ananya Panday will play the female lead in the film but these turned out to be just baseless speculations. The makers are expected to officially announce the actress who plays the lady lead in the film very soon. As for Bellamkonda Srinivas, he is hoping to make it big in Bollywood with Chatrapathi remake.
