SS Rajamouli is India’s top director right now and there is no denying this statement. His films speak for themselves and the records he created need no explanation. Every actor in the country wants to work under his direction and Rajamouli has turned into a brand now. But Rajamouli is what he is today because of his entire family.
His wife, father, brothers, son are the core group that works on every Rajamouli film. Right from the beginning of his career, Rajamouli involves his entire family as his son Karthikeya is the line producer or 2nd director while costumes are designed by his wife Rama Rajamouli. As we know, his brother MM Keeravani is the music composer while his father VIjayendra Prasad provides the story. Kalyani Malik looks after the sound while Kanchi too provides a lot of input.
Rajamouli thanks his entire family in a sentence or two at every public event of his movies but the ‘Baahubali’ director took time to thank each and every one of them in person during the ‘RRR’ pre-release event which was held a few weeks back in Mumbai.
He said, “Words can’t explain the amount of support by brother Kanchi gives every time. We call him Script Doctor and WatchDog as he corrects me whenever I make a small mistake. His suggestions during the making time are priceless and he helped me a lot during the course of this movie. Also, my elder brother Keeravani not only helps me in the music department but in the filmmaking too. Nothing goes ahead if he isn’t satisfied with the rushes. We all get quite tensed while he watches the footage.”
He added that Keeravani appreciated that ‘RRR’ came out better than ‘Bahubali’. He also spoke about Keeravani’s wife MM Srivalli who is the line producer for most of Rajamouli’s films. She spent five years as the line producer for ‘Baahubali’. She worked as the post-production line producer for ‘RRR’.
Speaking of his son Karthikeya, Rajamouli said, “I used to be proud of myself that there is no other person who works as hard as me but my son changed that opinion. Even when I compromise, he doesn’t.”
