Rajampet: Multiple contenders in TDP with Meda’s Exit

Telugu Desam’s only MLA from Kadapa district Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy quit the party and joined YSR Congress recently. But the Meda’s exit and entry has created ripples in TDP and YSRCP respectively.

Former MLC, Bathyala Chengalrayulu is expecting Rajampet ticket from TDP this time. He already started promoting himself in the constituency and has landed his supporters as well to campaign door-to-door.

On the other hand, YSRCP leader Amarnath Reddy who is anticipating ticket is upset with the party induction Meda. There are also unconfirmed reports that Jagan might prefer sitting MLA and Amarnath Reddy chances of getting ticket are least.

Upset with these reports, TDP is said to be planning to rope in Amarnath Reddy in to party and also give him ticket. If this happens then it would be a setback for ex-MLC Bathyala Chengalarayulu. However, the Rajampet TDP says Chandrababu Naidu’s decision is final.

TDP wants to give tough fight to YSRCP in Kadapa which is it’s home turf and so is leaving nothing for the main opposition.
