Superstar Rajnikanth has turned 72 and the man is showing no signs of slowing down. Despite his age and health problems, the undisputed emperor of South Indian cinema is still making his fans happy. At this point in time, his aura is just enough to make the masses go crazy in theatres. He doesn’t need to do anything extraordinary. All he needs to do is dress up and walk toward the camera.
But he still works hard even to this day and it is what makes him the undisputed superstar in India. But there are some people who still drag him into the numbers game. Fans of Vijay who used to say that their hero was the next Rajnikanth till a few years back are claiming that their hero has surpassed Rajni in terms of stardom lately. This often leads to unnecessary clashes on social media.
During the pre-release event of ‘Lal Salaam’, Rajnikanth said some heartfelt words about Vijay and showed everyone that he is no longer interested in No.1 position and is above all these petty things. He said, “Vijay grew up in front of my eyes. He used to observe me during Tharmathin Thalaivan’s shoot. He was just 13 years old. After the shoot, director SA Chandrasekhar (Vijay’s dad) introduced Vijay to me and requested me to advise Vijay to concentrate on his studies, as Vijay was more keen to become an actor. Vijay later entered movies and reached the pinnacle with his discipline, hardwork and talent.”
Talking about Vijay’s comparison with him, he stated, “Vijay had once said that he is competing with himself and even I had earlier said that I am my own competition. So, I request my fans and Vijay fans not to compare us.” Let us see if these words from Rajni brings down the fan wars a bit or not.
