Director Ramesh Varma scored a good hit with arresting crime thriller ‘Rakshasudu’. Bellamkonda Srinivas playing the lead in this film which is a remake of the Tamil flick ‘Ratsasan’. The Telugu version brought in decent profits to the makers that they announced a sequel to it on Tuesday. An announcement poster was released with a psycho killer holding a dead body over his shoulder and an ax in his hand. The poster looked chilling and creepy therefore managing to grab the interest of the audience.
They did not mention the name of the lead actor in ‘Rakshasudu 2’ and stated that a star hero will be brought onboard. Grapevine suggests that the makers are going to get a Tamil star hero to play the lead. Since the producers are planning the second part on a big scale, they are reportedly aiming at the entire South Indian market. News is that either Siva Karthikeyan or crazy talented Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the protagonist in this film.
These two names are strongly heard and the makers are yet to confirm about it. But insiders say that it may fall into the lap of Vijay Sethupathi due to his supreme acting skills and splendid market all over the South Indian states. We need to wait and see what happens in the coming days.
The main technical team who did a great job in the first film will be working on ‘Rakshasudu 2’ as well. Produced by Satyanarayana Koneru under ‘A Studios’ banner, Venkat C Dileep will be handling the camera. Ghibran will score the music and it is Rockstar DSP’s brother Sagar who will be penning the dialogues along with Srikant Vissa. Apart from directing the film, Ramesh Varma will be providing the story and screenplay as well. The first part is a huge success and it is to be seen how the second part is going to shape up.
Ramesh Varma is currently awaiting the release of the action thriller ‘Khiladi’ which was Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja in the lead. It was supposed to hit the screens on May 28th but got postponed due to the lockdown and the new release date is expected to come out soon.
