Ram Madhav lashes out at Jagan’s ludicrous idea

Confusion over BJP’s stand on the 3 Capital issue continues to worsen even after the Central government filed an affidavit in the high court, stating clearly that it has nothing to do with the issue, and that the power solely lies in the hands of the state government.

Now, Ram Madhav, BJP National General Secretary, has lashed out at Jagan and ridiculed his idea of 3 Capitals for the state of Andhra Pradesh. He said that AP is not a huge state where it requires more than one capital. He also cited the example of Uttar Pradesh, which is much bigger than AP, and said that UP is functioning pretty well even with a single Capital.

Ram Madhav said that UP has 75 districts, with more than 230 million people living in the state, whereas AP has only 13 districts, with a population of Rs. 5 Crores.

Furthermore, Ram Madhav said that the BJP would make sure that justice would be served to the farmers of Amaravati and that the BJP would also make sure that Amaravati is reinstated as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh.

CM Jagan planned on shifting the capital to Visakhapatnam and hoped that he could carry on his duties as the CM from there, as soon as the Governor of AP approved the 3 Capital bill. However, the interference of the High Court prevented him from doing so. The High Court has issued a Status Quo notification on the matter till the 14th of August, after which the issue will be looked at once again.

In the meantime, Jagan’s government went to the Supreme Court and requested for a stay order on the High Court’s order, but the SC has postponed the hearing on this request for now.
