Vyjayanthi Movies, founded by C Aswani Dutt, remains one of the oldest production houses of Tollywood, with it established in 1974.
Commencing film production with NTR starrer O Seetha Katha in that year, there has been no looking back after. The logo of the production house sees NTR as Sri Krishna with a conch in his hand and the earth revolving beyond him. And there’s an interesting reason behind the production house’s name and logo, as revealed by Rana Daggubati in a recent video.
The actor reveals that Aswani Dutt was only 21 when he wanted to make a film with K Viswananth and was adamant on casting NTR. It was the legendary actor who actually christened the film after the Vyjayanthi garland Lord Krishna wears. But the first film NTR acted for the production house is Eduruleni Manishi and Yuga Purushudu few years after.
