Bollywood’s handsome hero Ranbir Kapoor made his debut 16 years back and he is known for his charming looks coated by phenomenal acting talent. His love stories are a treat to watch and the star hero who became a father last year has talked about the heavy influence of Western culture in the Hindi film industry over the last 20 years.
He said, “I think what’s lacking in the Hindi film industry is really knowing your audience. I think somewhere in the last 10, or 15, or 20 years, the Hindi film industry has been quite confused and influenced by Western culture, by Western films, by remakes.” He claims that the movie business needs fresh talents and new minds in order to come up with novel content.
Despite coming from the biggest Bollywood family, Ranbir is never criticized or bashed on the internet for being a product of Nepotism. His amazing performances in movies like ‘Rockstar’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and others are huge examples. Talking about fresh talent, he said, “There are a very few actors and actresses, and they are not giving new people an opportunity, like new directors, new minds. I think it’s very important actually to give them (an opportunity) because that’s when the change happens. That’s when new minds come and new stories are being told so I hope that happens.”
After the blockbuster ‘Sanju’ in 2018, Ranbir arrived on the big screen with ‘Shershaah’ which was a big failure. His next flick ‘Brahmastra’ minted around 250 crores and the second part is in the making right now. His latest outing ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkar’ is a romantic comedy directed by Luv Ranjan. It collected over 150 crores and turned out to be 2nd highest collecting film in Bollywood this year. Ranbir Kapoor is currently acting in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ which arrives in August.
