Vijay Deverakonda is currently red hot in the trade after scoring blockbusters with Pelli Chupulu and Arjun Reddy.He is doing multiple movies at the moment and one of it is Taxiwala that is bankrolled by UV Pictures and GA 2 (Geetha Arts).Rahul Sanktrityan is making debut as director with Taxiwala which is a horror/thriller with a variety concept.
The film is made on a very low budget of around Rs. 3 crore as it was materialized right after Pelli Choopulu. Even Vijay Deverakonda was paid a moderate Rs. 30 lakh for Taxiwala.He would have been at least four times pricier had they made the agreement after Arjun Reddy.
Despite Arjun Reddy’s mega success, makers of Taxiwala didn’t up the budget according to Deverakonda’s latest market.The film was made with the money they have made by selling its satellite and digital rights. Therefore, they will be making profit right from the first ticket sold.UV, Geetha Distributors, Bunny Vas and SKN are distributing the film across Telugu states.
Vijay Deverakonda also is turning distributor with the film. He bagged overseas distribution rights of Taxiwala for Rs. 80 lakh.It is a very good deal considering Pelli Chupulu and Arjun Reddy both grossing over Million Dollars in USA. The film is sure to take stunning opening at box office given Vijay’s current following among the Telugu youth.
