Sports biopics are the current trend now. Successful biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, again brought the trend and many films joined the journey. A film was made on the journey of the 1983 world cup tournament. One more sports biopic joined the list which will trace the journey of a legendary player.
To show the journey of legendary Indian women cricketer Mithali Raj titled Shabaash Mithu is awaiting the release. Talented actress Tapsee Pannu is playing the titular role and she went through a massive transformation for the role. The actress underwent training sessions.
Ahead of the release, both reel and real Mithali Raj appeared on the cover page of the June 2022 issue of Femina. During their interaction with Femina Mithali Raj and Tapsee Pannu spoke highly about each other and said how they respect each other’s work despite belonging to different fields.
Tapsee Pannu said she is not familiar with the sport and she has to go the extra mile and take up training sessions to match the role. She also said that she got to know more about the sport and the player during her journey.
Mithali Raj said that she is a fan of Tapsee Pannu’s work and called her a good actor. Talking about the efforts Tapsee gave for the film, Mithali Raj said she is impressed with the actress’s dedication.
