Reel Buzz: Is Charan Taking A Risk?

Breaking away from the completely commercial mode of cinema, Ram Charan did Dhruva which had a good run at the box-office.

He has decided to follow it up with the Sukumar project, a film set in the 1980’s in which he plays a deaf guy. This is indeed something completely different for a mainstream commercial hero.

But what is significant to see is that he has also signed Mani Ratnam’s film that would take off after the Sukumar film.

Fans of Ram Charan are happy to see their hero experiment with different kinds of characters. At the same time, they are also a wee bit worried that Cherry is going in for an overdose.

Normally, any hero would experiment with a different role once in every three or two films. But with Ram Charan, it is three in a row. This would make in stand in danger of losing his mass base, his key forte.

Because, all said and done, at the end of the day, it is only commercial cinema that makes stars and rules the roost.
