Remembering A Game-Changing, History-Making yatra


Friday marks the completion of three years of the history-making and game-changing Praja Sankalpa Yatra of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The yatra has changed the political discourse in the state and has catapulted YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to chief minister’s position.

The massive Praja Sankalpa Yatra, which covered 13 districts for over 3500 km during a 14-month long period, has begun from Idupulapaya, the final resting place of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy on November 6 in 2017 and ended at Ichchapuram on January 9 in 2019.

The yatra helped build an interface and a connect between YS Jagan and the people of the state. It helped him in coming face-to-face with the problems of the people. This yatra has given a powerful political alternative to the people of the state and riding on the popularity wave of the yatra, YS Jagan had won 151 seats in the assembly and formed his government. He had also won 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

The monumental yatra covered 3648 km, 134 assembly constituencies, 231 mandals, 2516 villages, 62 towns and cities, During the course of the yatra, YS Jagan addressed 124 massive public meetings and 55 Atmeeya Sammelanams.On the third anniversary of the yatra, the YSRCP is organising a slew of programmes across the state. The party is preparing to celebrate the event in a big way.
