A recent report from the Dossier Centre, cited by Forbes, reveals that Russian President Vladimir Putin has two sons with his alleged girlfriend, former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva. The children, aged five and nine, live under strict privacy, away from the public eye, in a highly secured residence. They reportedly have very little interaction with other children and live an isolated life.
This report suggests that Putin and Kabaeva started their relationship in 2008, six years before Putin’s divorce from his former wife, Lyudmila, became official. Kabaeva gave birth to their first son, Ivan, in Switzerland, while their second son, Vladimir Jr, was born in Moscow. Both boys are being raised in a mansion near Moscow, where they are provided with personal trainers and lessons in music, swimming, and gymnastics.
Putin, who is 71 years old, has publicly acknowledged having two daughters from his marriage to Lyudmila, Maria, aged 39and Katerina, 38. However, he has kept his relationship with Kabaeva and their children secret from the public. The Dossier Centre’s report has once again brought attention to the secretive life Putin leads with his partner and their children.
In the past, other reports, including one from The Telegraph suggested that Putin had spent large sums of money on luxurious properties for Kabaeva and their children including a mansion and a penthouse. Despite being one of the most prominent leaders globally Putin’s private life remains mostly hidden fueling speculation about his relationships and family.
