The upcoming GHMC elections have become all the rage in the state, with every single party trying to make sure that they emerge victorious in them. The TRS and the BJP are fighting neck to neck, especially after the BJP’s surprise victory in Dubbaka. However, the Congress still remains in the background, struggling to find a stronghold.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Telangana Congress Working President and Malkajgiri MLA Revanth Reddy said that the TRS is dominating the entire state, and that it is very certain that the people will vote for the TRS and its ally MIM in the GHMC elections as well. While saying that, Revanth also said that the people should vote for other parties as well, because a strong opposition would greatly benefit the people.
Revanth said that there is no strong opposition in Telangana, which means that there is no proper representation of people’s problems inside and outside the assembly. He said that a strong opposition would help with that, and would also give the media some work and something to write about.
It is very uncommon for opposition parties to admit the dominance of any ruling party in the state. Revanth’s admission though, comes as total surprise, and also makes one wonder if the Congress has totally given up on the idea that it can never regain power in Telangana again.
