Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy has announced that the party would undertake extensive Jana Jagaran Yatras in all villages in Telangana from November 14 to November 21. He said the yatras will seek to expose the TRS misrule and the BJP politics of communalism. He said the yatras would cover every village and will help create a favourable opinion about the Congress across the state.
Interestingly, Revanth’s Jana Jagaran will begin a week before the TRS party’s much-touted Vijaya Garjana. Thus there would be great political heat in Telangana. The Congress is also planning to hold a massive public meeting at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on November 9. Revanth claims that Rahul Gandhi would address the public meeting. He also said that a massive membership drive would be taken up across the state.
He said that as many as 30 lakh members would be enrolled in the electronic mode to avoid impersonation, fake membership and figure-fudging. He said that each party member would automatically get an insurance benefit of Rs 2 lakh. Strongly criticizing the TRS leaders, he said that a half of the TRS leaders were brokers, while the remaining are ‘loafers.’
Revanth Reddy formally launched the digital membership drive of the party at the Gandhi Bhavan on Monday. Party affairs incharge Manickam Tagore, senior leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Jagga Reddy, Madhu Yashki Goud and others were present.
