The Congress party in Telangana, which has already been beaten and bruised in a series of elections, appears to be not learning any lessons from its debacles, as the party leaders are busy fighting among themselves.
Even as Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president A Revanth Reddy is trying hard to capture the PCC chief post, he is facing equal resistance from party seniors, who have launched an open attack on him.
Senior party legislator from Sangareddy T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy lashed out at Revanth for finding fault PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy for not calling on him in the Chanchalguda jail, where he was lodged for 14 days in connection with drone flying case.
“Just because the jail inmates told him that Uttam did not come to see him, how can Revanth target Uttam? We strongly condemn his comments,” Jagga Reddy said.
Describing Uttam as the man of integrity, Jagga wondered how Revanth could ignore the party for his personal prestige.
“How can Khuntia and Revanth decide the programmes for the party? Is it enough if Revanth alone fights against the KCR government’s corruption? We don’t keep quiet, if the party is hijacked by one or two persons,” he said.
