Are the AP Government’s attempts to corner renegade MP from Narasapuram, Raghuramakrishnam Raju, proving counterproductive? The YSRCP government’s plans to corner him and cause mental agony to him appear to be backfiring. The sympathy seems to be growing for RRR in Narsapuram which he has not visited in two years.
Soon after the AP Government CID sleuths knocked the doors of RRR at his residence in Hyderabad, RRR decided to rush back to New Delhi. Originally, he had planned to spend Sankranthi festivities in his home town of Bhimavaram. But sensing that the Jagan government could corner him, he preferred to go to Delhi.
But as soon as this happened, there is a wave of sympathy for RRR in the Raju-dominated belt. Banners, posters and flexis sprung up all over the place showing a defiant RRR slapping his thigh in a show of determination. Sources say there is a groundswell of support for RRR and a criticism of the government for its show of vindictiveness.
Sources say the YSRCP government is stretching itself too far to attack RRR and it could prove counterproductive. Sympathy for RRR is growing instead of diminishing. That Raju can get so much sympathy and support despite being away from the constituency for over two years is a matter of surprise for even the YSRCP people.
