Rajamouli’s RRR looked set for a grand theatrical release on 13th October this year. But the makers then decided to back off as there isn’t much time to wrap up the post-production and also come up with a winning promotional plan.
Moreover, the poor box office performance of Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom in the North Indian circuit is an indication that cine enthusiasts are still not ready to throng cinemas.With all this in mind, the makers of RRR have opted to alter their release plans. Dasara release – 13th October, is no longer a viable option for the Rajamouli directorial.
The makers have opted to push the film’s release to next Ugadi. It is heard that RRR has locked 1st April, 2022 as its new release date. It is likely to release during the Ugadi weekend.
Team RRR is set to wrap up shoot by the third week of September and post-production will commence correspondingly.
