SS Rajamouli’s Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer RRR is one of Tollywood’s most-awaited films, with fans waiting for every little update.
Recently, Jr NTR’s teaser for the film – Ramaraju for Bheem – was finally released, which saw him play the role of Komaram Bheem, a tribal man. The teaser also showed him put on a skull cap at the end and seemingly take up Islam and while that’s open to interpretation, certain citizens are feeling offended at the representation. They wonder why a man who fought the Nizams is being shown as a Muslim man while some others reason that it’s possible he only donned the garb to fight them from within.
SS Rajamouli or any of the film’s team are yet to respond however as they are busy canning crucial scenes during night shoots. The film’s team recently resumed shooting for the film after lockdown and a few videos that make rounds on social media show a sneak-peek into the shooting. Titled #RRRDiaries, the film’s team even promised more such updates, much to the delight of fans. In one of the videos shared, the night shoot can be seen in progress. In another two, the team can be seen trying on fake blood and later SS Rajamouli can be seen personally approving the flow of the fake blood.
RRR is a fictional tale based on a year in the life of Alluri Sitaramaraju and Komaram Bheem. “A fictitious story based on two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem. Set in the 1920s, the movie unveils both of them away from home (in Delhi) before they started fighting for the country. It is a pan-Indian film painted on a large canvas,” reads the film’s story. The team of RRR even clarified later on that RRR is a tale of friendship and not a patriotic film at all.
RRR also stars Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Samuthirakani and more in key roles. While the film was initially slated to release during Sankranthi 2021, it remains to be seen when the film, which sees music by MM Keeravani, will wrap up shooting and hit screens. The film will release not just in Telugu but also Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil.
