The festive season has just started and the trade circles expect a booming business this season. The total purchases this festive season, which begins with Ganesh pooja and ends with Diwali is likely to be more than Rs 4 lakh crore. This is 25 per cent more than last year’s sales.
According to Redseer Strategy Consultants, at least 140 million Indians are likely to make at least one purchase online during this festive season. Thus the online trade would be around Rs 90000 crore. Incidentally, this is the 10th year of the launch of online sales in the Indian market.
According to Redseer, the Indian economy this year has gotten over the turbulence caused by the Covid 19 years. The Redseer also predicted that changing lifestyles and financial felicity have brought in changes in the purchase patterns of the Indian buyers. It says that Beauty and personal care (BPC), home and general merchandise, and fashion are likely to rise further.
The sale of electronic goods is also likely to go up this festive season. The Redseer also predicts a robust growth across city tiers this festive season. It says that the sales will go up considerably in Tier 2 and 3 cities also . The consultancy also says that the buyers want novel consumer experiences.
