Sachin Tendulkar Turns Emotional On Son’s IPL Debut!

No words can describe the feelings of a proud father seeing kids proving themselves on a big stage. The happiness will be even greater if they are from the same field. A legendary Indian player went through this as he saw his son making a debut. On Sunday a young player debuted in the Indian Premier League(IPL), one of the biggest tournaments in the world.

Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar was purchased by the Mumbai Indians team long back. However, he did not get the chance to make a debut. Star bowler Jasprit Bumrah missed the IPL due to the injury and Jofra Archer is also not part of the team due to an elbow injury.

Things turned in Arjun’s favour and he debuted in IPL in yesterday’s match. Though Arjun could not claim any wickets, he recorded decent numbers by conceding just 17 runs in two overs. Taking to Twitter, Sachin shared his happiness. Sachin wrote an emotional note.

Sachin called Arjun’s debut another important step in his journey. Talking about his son’s passion for the game, Sachin Tendulkar told Arjun to give the required respect for the game it deserves and the game will live him back. The legendary cricketer mentioned the hard work Arjun had put in and said this is just the start of a beautiful journey.

“Arjun, today you have taken another important step in your journey as a cricketer. As your father, someone who loves you and is passionate about the game, I know you will continue to give the game the respect it deserves and the game will love you back,” Sachin Tendulkar said on Twitter.

Moreover, Arjun Tendulkar’s debut is a special one in the history of IPL as Sachin-Arjun became the first father-son duo to play in the tournament. Sachin Tendulkar made his debut in IPL in 2008. Cut to 16 years later, his son Arjun Tendulkar debuted for the Mumbai Indians team.
