Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan who pretty much distances himself from controversies had mired in controversy unexpectedly on his mindful words about the character he is playing in 3D mythology `Adipurush’.
In a recent interview that is surfacing the internet, Saif had stated that the film was going to display the ‘humane’ side of Ravan.
Reportedly an Uttar Pradesh lawyer Himanshu Srivastava who came to know about the news has now lodged a plea against Saif Ali Khan and director Om Raut in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM).
Many Hindu bigots lashed out at the actor’s remark. BJP leader Ram Kadam was also among them to condemn it. He had issued a statement saying that his party won’t tolerate if any one try to hurt Hindu sentiments. Ravan is considered as a symbol of evil while lord Rama as the symbol of good as per the sanathan dharma.
Subsequently, Saif had asked for an apology for his comments in a statement. So what’s this fuss all about?. Well earlier Saif said, “It’s intriguing to play a demon king with less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, and justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off her nose.”
ACJM notified December 23 as the next date of hearing in the case.
