As a serious example of how society is slowly becoming dangerous for the girls, a 6-year-old girl in Singareni Colony in Hyderabad’s Saidabad was allegedly raped and murder earlier last week. The incident resulted in widespread protests in the Saidabad area.
As the accused is still on a run, the controversy and protests surrounding the issue are intensifying. Celebrities are also reacting to the issue and demanding a serious punishment for the accused.
To help in arresting the accused in the case, serving Managing Director of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation(TSRTC) MD Sajjanar had alerted the RTC staff to look for the accused as there is a chance of him sleeping at the bus stops. Providing two phone numbers, Sajjanar urged the employees to give any information they get on the accused.
He had ordered that the picture of the accused released by the cops should be at every bus stand and bus. RTC Bus drivers, conductors should be careful and watch for the accused, if anything suspicious comes to their notice, they should immediately inform the local police, Sajjanar said.
The other day, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar held a press conference on the horrific incident and said, special teams were constituted to nab the accused. A picture of the accused was also released by the cops. Besides this, a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh was also announced.
As per the information shared by the cops, the accused is 30 years old and his height is around 5.9 feet. The accused has long hair and he had tattoos on both hands. Accused identified as Raju is said to have a habit of spelling at the bus stands.
“Despite serious efforts, the accused Pallakonda Raju (30) who is wanted in a case of rape and murder of a 6-year-old girl in the limits Saidabad Police Station (East Zone) of Hyderabad city is still at large,” the cops said in the poster.
The heinous crime was reported on Thursday in Hyderabad. The accused Raju, the neighbor of the victim, took the 6-year-old to his house and allegedly raped and murdered her. Following the incident, the cops launched a search operation to arrest the accused.
