Samantha Ruth Prabhu – an actress who isn’t afraid of a challenge has taken on an interesting one this time. Silambam, a Tamil based martial art sports has recently caught her interest; She calls it her new hobby and is keen on getting better at it. From the looks of the video she posted on instagram, she is already a pro. The way she swings that bamboo from one hand to the other, also moving forwrad and back at the same time is a treat to watch! She has taken on Silamban like a boss!

Of course questions followed later as to whether she was taking this on for one fo her projects. Considering Vijay 61 was set in different time periods, there were speculations of learning this sport for this movie. But as per reports on Hindustan Times, a source close to the unit revealed, “No, she’s not learning Silambam for Vijay 61. It’s a rumour. She is yet to start shooting for the project.”

Sam is currently working on multiple projects – There’s her much talked about Rom-com, Irumbu Thirai opposite Vijay Sethupathi. The fact that it’s directed by the renowned Thiagarajan is one of the the important talking points. Moreover, the quirky still she shared where she was seen attempting to kill a man who was a asleep with a butcher knife, got eveyrone talking, fans, actors alike. She  will also be seen in Sukumar’s next opposite Ram Charan. As per reports, Sukumar had mentioned both actors would sport different looks. She is also shooting for her first horror comedy – Raju Gari Gadhi 2 that also stars Nagarjuna, her father-in-law to be. She is also part of Vijay 61. And, she will play a significant role in Savithri’s biopic.
