In the recent times, a lot has been discussed about Hyderabad city. Rumours made waves that the city is likely to be declared as second capital of India. Many BJP leaders commented on it but were cautious so as to not bring a bad name for the BJP government.
With the winter sessions commencing, Congress Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao has raised this issue in the upper house. In the question hour, he asked whether the government is considering it necessary to have a second capital for the country in south India.
To this minister for state in the ministry of Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai said ‘NO’. So this puts an end to the speculation that Hyderabad will not made as second capital of India.
Unconfirmed media reports claimed that BJP government is planning to announce Hyderabad as second capital to checkmate the ruling TRS party in Telangana and also to expand its wings in south India.
