Former Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, who is lodged in Chanchalguda jail in the kidnap case, has once again faced a blow from the court. The Secunderabad court on Monday refused to grant bail to Akhila Priya.
The Secunderabad court, which heard TDP leader’s bail petition, has made it clear that crimes punishable by life imprisonment do not fall within their purview.
The police also filed a memo with additional sections opposing bail to Akhila Priya. She is the main accused in the kidnapping of three businessmen over land at Hafeezpet in Hyderabad. The police have registered a case under Section 395 of the IPC.
Meanwhile, the lawyers of Bhuma Akhila Priya are planning to move Nampally Criminal Court over the bail petition. On the other hand, the officials have deployed special teams to search for Akhila Priya’s husband Bhargav Ram and his brother Chandrahas for their alleged involvement in the kidnap case.
