Cyber crimes are also increasing with the rise in technology. Not just the common people, but celebrities are also falling prey to cyber fraud and losing money. With the help of technology, fraudsters are coming up with new ideas to loot money in bank accounts and credit cards. The fraudsters are escaping without getting caught despite the victims lodging complaints. The base of the fraudsters will be in other states and nations. So this makes it tough to catch them.
Yesteryear Superstar Nagma became the target of cyber-attacks and lost money. After clicking the message she received, Nagma lost lakhs of money as per the reports.
Going into details, a message was sent to Nagma’s mobile on the 28th of February as a bank message. She opened a link in the message. She received a phone call. A person introduced himself as a bank employee and asked her to complete the KYC. Nagma did not tell him her bank details. But the fraudster logged into her bank account as Nagnam opened the link he sent and withdrew Rs 1 lakh.
Nagma said that she received around 20 OTPs on her mobile phone when the cyber fraudster logged into her bank account through online banking. However, she said that she lost a small amount. In the same branch, around 80 people became the target of cyber fraud. Mumbai Cyber Police registered a case and started a probe.
Nagma was a star heroine in the 1990s in Tamil and Telugu films. She acted with big stars like Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and others. Her link-up rumors with Tamil hero Sarath Kumar and former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly became the talk of the town. Nagma’s sisters Roshini( paired with Chiranjeevi in Master) and Jyothika(Suriya’s wife) are also actors.
