Sharwanand and Samantha starrer “Jaanu”, which was released in February this year, won good reviews but it tanked at the box-office leaving producer Dil Raju in huge disappointment.
Dil Raju was so confident that it would become a rage as the Tamil original “96” did in Tamilnadu. But many factors had worked against it when it hit the screens.
The nostalgic romantic drama, however, had seen patronage of small screen viewers. The film was premiered on Star MAA channel on 12th April.
Garnering 7.59 TVR points, “Jaanu” became the only entertainment program that achieved huge impressions last week.
People are more glued to news bulletins on ETV Telugu from the past couple of weeks which are continuing to witness top ratings. “Jaanu” was the next top program after these news bulletins.
This is a solace for Sharwanand and Samantha who had put in sincere performances and worked hard to recreate the magic of the Tamil version.
