Sharwanand: What’s Wrong?

No doubt, Sharwanand is one of the good actors among younger lot. Not just for his looks or for his performance, his dialogue delivery also swooned many. But his choices of films, scripts and directors are worrying the trade. Looks like, Sharwa is bringing down the market of his films with his own choices.

While Run Raja Run was a big hit in Sharwa’s career, Express Raja and Mahanubhavudu were average. Again, Shatamanam Bhavati did well and even won National Award for Best Popular Film providing Wholesome Entertainment. But this film’s success hasn’t really helped Sharwa. And his subsequent films Radha, Padi Padi Leche Manasu and now Ranarangam have failed to impress critics and audience alike.

While Padi Padi Leche Manasu was marred by its over run-time and drag and too much of emotion, Ranarangam too had issues with its slow-pace and predictable content. Weak script and flat narration has further let down the film. The film is stylish, but lacks substance. What Sharwa now need is substance in his films.

At least after Padi Padi Leche Manasu’s debacle, Sharwa should have learned any lessons. Ranarangam has been inspired from several films and lacks novelty. Even scenes are not fresh and it reminisces us of several old films including The God Father 2 from where the film is inspired from. On the whole, another bad choice by Sharwa. It is high time for Sharwa to choose better stories and better directors.
